The Hello Kitty shinkansen (Hello Kitty bullet train, ハローキティ新幹線) will be operated in West Japan Railway on June 30, 2018 for a limited time. It is not a cartoon but real.
The Hello Kitty shinkansen
The trains dets on the area of West Japan Railway - west part of Japan - between Shin-Osaka station (Osaka prefecture) and Hakata station (Kyushu prefecture). This would be the good news for all the "Hello Kitty" fans in the world.
I have a daughter of 4 years old and I just showed her the news today. Soon after hear the big news, she wanted to take the bullet train now. But her dream will not be come true so quickly, since they do not run in Tokyo where we live. It's really "Kawaii" (cute) and most of the girls of such ages as my daughter like "Kitty-chan" in Japan.
When it is available?
The trains of the Hello Kitty Shinkansen are Kodama type cars and it is not the express Shinkansen but stops every station between Shin-Osaka and Hakata station. As the primary schedule from June 30 to September, 2018, it runs everyday - twice a day.
This is the limited project and the end time is not yet known. In the case of the Evangelion Shinkansen, it lasted from November 2015 to May 2018.
Special cars
The Hello Kitty Shinkansen has 8 cars and the car No.1 and No.2 are specially designed cars. The car No.1 is called "HELLO PLAZA" and it is used as exhibition purpose.
The car No.2 is called "KAWAII ROOM". The carriage includes seats with Hello Kitty armrests, windows, floors and headrests.
